English Language Culture & History Cornwall

Over the years artists, painters, authors and sculptors have all made Cornwall their home, seeking inspiration in its natural beauty. We have our own extension of the London Tate Gallery in St.Ives, where many of England’s most famous artists and painters live.
The region has a magical and mystical history. Iron Age villages and legendary mediaeval castles such as Tintagel are associated with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.
Cornwall has made two of the most significant contributions to Britain’s Industrial Revolution in the 20th Century – the Steam Engine and the Mining Industry. You can visit working mines such as Wheal Jane, Geevor Mine and Poldark Mine.
